Varley Recognised for Eraring Energy's B-safe Program


The Varley team based at Eraring Energy have been recognised for their consistent work with Eraring Energy's B-safe behavioural safety audit program. This includes the many plant fixes Varley completed on the mills to make the job safer and easier.

The Varley team members have put in a great effort in this high risk work area with many B-safe observations.

Some plant fixes have included extension handles to allow for better access to valves and a ribbon conveyor rotator (as shown in picture) to reduce manual handling.

Varley are proud of the team at Eraring Energy who take the opportunity to change unsafe or at risk behaviour to achieve positive outcomes.

 

 

 

Varley Group Greenhouse Gas Emissions Assessment


The Varley Group remains at the forefront of environmentally friendly technology and continues to embrace new and more effective techniques in all areas of the company and are continually looking at ways to reduce gas (GHG) emissions.

The Varley Group commissioned Carbon Planet, in conjunction with Forsythes, to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the GHG emissions accountable to the company for 2008/09. Varley would like to thank employees, especially the accounting team, who gathered and provided essential information for this extensive assessment to be undertaken.

From this study Varley have embarked on implementing changes to reduce the company's carbon footprint. Varley are environmentally conscious of both the internal and external impacts of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions on the business, implementing energy reduction strategies to minimise our footprint.

Environmental protection is an issue of growing concern to all area of society and the Varley Group recognises its responsibility to the environment, the need for sustainability, and ensuring a small carbon imprint is maintained.

 

 

 

100th Bus Refurbishment Complete for Brisbane City Council

Varley complete the refurbishment of the 100th Bus for the Brisbane City Council. The proud team at Varley have maintained their on-time delivery record since completion of the ramp-up phase of the project in 2008. The buses move workstations every four days, and every four days a completed bus is delivered to the Brisbane City Council.

TOAT Trailer Factory Acceptance Loading Tests Prior to Field Trials


Pierre Sidorow, Business Development Manager at Varley attended the annual Australian Defence Magazine two day Defence Congress in Canberra on 23 / 24 February.

A feature of the event is the Essington Lewis trophy award dinner whereat the GTESPO Rohde & Schwarz TOAT project received as a very very close second place a High Commendation for project delivery on time and on budget.
